The Collection
Our collection consists partly of Susanne Beer's personal cellos and bows. Susanne made these available to her students in order to give them the best possible chance in their musical endeavours. Since the Foundation was established, the collection has grown thanks to generous donations and fundraising efforts that have allowed us to purchase several new cellos. We have several fine cellos including Susanne's Lockey Hill and a number of intermediate level cellos between 1/2 and 4/4 size. We hope to continue to grow our collection in order to support more young cellists. We welcome donations of cellos, bows and cases of all sizes and levels. Please be in touch if you have a cello, bow or case that might be able to support a young musician.
How to Apply for a Cello Loan
Loans are for cellists who are UK citizens; have permanent UK resident status; or hold a student visa, aged 23 or less. The loan is for up to three years. We consider the financial situation of the family / student, as well as playing ability, preferring to loan cellos to those who are financially disadvantaged. Our fine cello loans are for those who wish to become professional musicians. As a condition of accepting a cello, the recipient may be asked to participate in fundraising concerts. The recipient should make every effort to participate where possible. There is a £200 per year contribution per cello, inclusive of insurance.
