Chamber Music for the Children
Apart from the obligatory group and ensemble lessons, the children can also choose to do chamber music.
Whether string quartet, string trio or piano trio, the young musicians love their chamber music sessions and get to perform the repertoire they have worked on at various concerts.
The very young children take part in courses like Temple Dinsley and Cellofest in order to get prepared for the more advanced chamber music classes like Bryanston International Summer School, where the older children have chamber music classes and concerts.
Competitions are often frowned upon in the métier of music and for some students, it might not be the right thing to do. However, in the right context, competitions can be a great stimulator and very motivating. When students advance to the next round or even win a prize, it gives them a great confidence boost. The prize usually includes the opportunity to perform in a prestigious venue where the students normally would not be able to perform and a beautiful venue with great acoustic is the best reward anybody could wish for!
