Audition for the loan of Susanne's Lockey Hill cello

On Wednesday 23 September 2020, The Susanne Beer Cello Corner Foundation held an audition for the three-year loan of Susanne Beer’s Lockey Hill cello (c1780). It is the cello that Susanne played on while she was co-principal cellist of the LPO. The venue was Tom Woods Cellos in Central London and the winner was 18-year old Elizaveta Lessoun, from Belarus. Elizaveta studies with Melissa Phelps at the Royal College of Music in London. 

Young Cellists at Conway Hall Sunday Concerts

The winner of The Susanne Beer Cello Corner Foundation Audition for Susanne's Lockey Hill cello, plus two Finalists, will open Conway Hall Sunday Concerts (Online Concerts) on November 1st, 29th and December 13th, 2020.

LPO Concert in Memory of Susanne Beer 

The London Philharmonic Orchestra dedicated a concert to Susanne Beer on 11 March 2020: Anne-Sophie Mutter (violin), Khatia Buniatishvili (piano) and Pablo Ferrández (cello), Robin Ticciati (conductor) at Royal Festival Hall, Southbank Centre. The program was Beethoven's Triple Concerto and Mahler's Symphony No 1
