19 March 2022 |  Masterclass with cellist Penny Driver, St James’ Church Islington. 

19 March 2022 | Schubert Cello Quintet with Ostara Chamber Players and Richard Lester (cello). The concert was opened with a y9ung ensemble performing Mozart's Oboe Quartet

2021 Events 





11 December | ​Over 20 cellists took part in The Susanne Beer Cello Corner Foundation Fundraiser Concert at Christ Church Highbury in December 2021.  £930 was raised for the Foundation. 

20 November | Daphne Shlomowitz (cello) performed Tarantella by Squire at Concert Corner, St. James' Church, Islington. This was followed by a performance by Greenwich Trio.

03 October |  Elizaveta Lessoun, the recipient of Susanne's Lockey Hill cello,  performed Tchaikovsky’s Pezzo Capriccioso Op 62 at Conway Hall Sunday Concerts. You can watch her performance on The Cello Corner YouTube Channel.

22 September | Sonny Buether, a Foundation cello recipient,  performed moderato from Haydn's Concerto in C Major with the Fitzwilliam Quartet at Concert Corner, Candid Arts Gallery.  You can watch his performance on The Cello Corner YouTube Channel.

27 June | Foundation Fundraiser Concert  with the Fitzwilliam String  Quartet and young cellists of The Cello Corner.  Our talented young performers were accompanied by the FSQ.

May | Young cellist Inez Karlsson was chosen by Robert Max as the winner of The The Susanne Beer Cello Corner Foundation Prize at the 2021 North London Festival of Music, Speech and Drama. Susanne Beer's former students Daphne and Lotte Shlomowitz, and Sonny Buether also won top prizes at the North London Festival   

2020 Past Events

October | Elizaveta Lessoun was chosen as the recipient of a three-year loan of Susanne Beer's Lockey Hill cello (c.1780). It is the cello that Susanne played on while she was co-principal cellist of the LPO. Elizaveta is from Belarus and she studies with Melissa Phelps at the Royal College of Music in London. 

1, 29 Nov and 13 Dec |  Three young cellists who auditioned for the Lockey Hill cello opened Conway Hall Sunday Concerts: 
Doraly Gill - Elgar's E minor Concerto
Elizaveta Lessoun  - Massenet's 'Elegy' and Davydov's 'At the Fountain'
Supanee Sonchaiwanich - first movement of Brahms' F major Sonata


11 March | The London Philharmonic Orchestra dedicated a concert to Susanne Beer.
Anne-Sophie Mutter (violin), 
Khatia Buniatishvili (piano) and Pablo Ferrández (cello), Robin Ticciati (conductor) performed  Beethoven's Triple Concerto and Mahler's Symphony No 1 at Royal Festival Hall, Southbank Centre.

19 January | Concert for The Susanne Beer Cello Corner Foundation  at Hornsey Parish Church, organised by Agnieszka Maria Mika.
